Five reasons to book in to #CTCC21

Five reasons to book in to #CTCC21

Announcing the forthcoming annual Jubilee+ conference to his church recently, Roger Bye (leader at King's Church Cockermouth) described our 2020 online conference as 'the best conference he had attended last year'.

This year our 'Churches that Change Communities' conference takes place both in Manchester and online.

Here are five reasons to join us, whether that’s in person or virtually:

1. Because you haven't been to a Jubilee+ conference before (if you haven't!).

You will be surprised to discover what you have been missing over the last ten years. Year on year Jubilee+ has been gathering momentum and influence, with a vision to see the church in the UK be a champion of the poor, as well as a means to creating healthy communities across the nation. In the main conference sessions - as well as in the more focused seminars - you will gather a sense of what God is already doing, both at a national level and through local ministries putting faith into action. The particular emphasis this year is on ‘moving beyond projects’.

2. Because ministry flows out of relationships.

For many of those attending it is an opportunity to network with people who have similar passions and callings. We are stronger together, both as we work in team but also as we learn from others up and down the nation. Iron sharpens iron as we share stories and experiences, ask questions and glean wisdom from those who are a step ahead.

3. Because everything is always centred on God's Word.

This may be stating the obvious, but in our busyness with social action ministries we need to be reminded regularly of the biblical basis for all that we do.

4. Because we are at a critical time in our nation's history.

The Covid crisis has heightened what was already a concerning outlook for our nation. We continue to see increased poverty, cuts in public spending with increasing national debt, and a housing crisis; all factors that disproportionately affect the most vulnerable in our society. At the same time support for people in need is reducing from traditional government channels. Covid has been both a particular opportunity and a challenge for the Church. We need to both understand the context in which we live, and be confident that we have a mandate to bring hope in times of change and uncertainty.

5. Because after we have met in November you will not be the same.

We are confident that as you spend time with others in the presence of God you will be changed, inspired and envisioned to see more of God's kingdom come in your own local context. God is calling His people once more, in the prophet Micah's words: to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with Him.

So, if you have mentally ticked any one of these reasons sign up now and join us in Manchester this November. It’s not too late to book either in person or online, or for your church to host a watch party.
