J+ Core Team: Rachel Wilson

J+ Core Team: Rachel Wilson

Last year saw a series of significant transitions for Jubilee+ as Natalie Williams replaced Martin Charlesworth as CEO, our first hybrid conference, and finally waving farewell to Pete & Sue Lyndon who have served us so faithfully over the past eleven years.

We're excited to introduce you over the coming weeks to the new core team in place for 2022, and wanted to start by today introducing Rachel Wilson...

Rachel joined us on the Jubilee+ team last year and is already contributing in her role as Communications Officer, as well as bringing insight through our Monday Mercy podcast contributions.

Rachel came to know Jesus at a young age at King’s Church in her home town, Eastbourne. She has seen this church grow from its small beginnings to the large church it is today, where she still worships. Early on, as she describes it, her faith was animated and brought to life by the provocation of Isaiah 61. After local involvement - including with the church’s Kidz Klub and outreach on local estates - Rachel went on to study International Relations & Development, before serving as an intern for International Justice Mission (IJM). This was followed by work for two local charities; first running a befriending project and then managing volunteers at a hospice.

Married to Andrew they have three children, who are now 13, 11 and 5. Their family life took an unexpected turn when at an early age two of their children were diagnosed with autism. This short video testimony tells something of the family story, which is also beautifully, and at times painfully, told in Rachel and Andrew’s book, “The Life You Never Expected - Thriving While Parenting Special Needs Children.”

In a very full life and with all her responsibilities, Rachel still finds time to enjoy outdoor swimming and the delights of the Sussex Downs. Of her current work with Jubilee+, Rachel says she is, “excited to be here, and grateful to God for the opportunity to serve in this way”.

Do keep an eye on the blog over the coming weeks as we introduce new core team members committing to support the work of Jubilee+ and serve the wider church.
