J+ Core Team: Will Pearce

J+ Core Team: Will Pearce

Will grew up in Torquay, where he came to know Jesus at a very young age, and attended Upton Vale Baptist Church with his family.

He moved to Leicester to study at university and joined King’s Church early on during his time in the city.

After graduating, Will stayed in Leicester working as an administrator in a pensions company, before having the opportunity to join the staff team at King’s as their Treasurer and Administrator. Since then, he has joined the church leadership team, becoming an Elder, and oversees the practical areas of church life.

During the coronavirus pandemic, Will felt God speak to him while serving at the church’s foodbank, challenging him that serving those in poverty is more than a tick-box exercise, but is at the heart of what Christians are called to. God gave him a picture that our projects should be more than first aid stations that meet immediate needs (although that is important) but more a hospital that sees those in poverty transformed and restored.

While pondering this on a walk in his local area, God directed him to Jubilee+, and Will joined the Core Team at the end of 2021. He is passionate about those in poverty receiving not just practical support, but encountering Jesus and experiencing spiritual transformation.

Outside of church life, Will plays football on a Saturday morning and will happily engage in a conversation about any sport, no matter how obscure. He is married to Jen and they have two children, aged seven and five.

Welcome Will!
