What is ROC & Coach Community Mentoring?

‘A series of tragic events set my life on a different path. My daughter was struggling at school and I felt a failure. The Coach [mentoring] scheme embraced my whole family and now my life is so different. My daughter is at University and I passed the entry exam to study medicine – that was after being at home bringing up my 5 children for the previous 14 yrs. My heart is now open to new possibilities. I feel focused and strong and a part of the community.’  - Ali

Redeeming Our Communities (ROC) has teamed up with Coach Community Mentoring to equip churches with a means of reaching out to and supporting local families. The volunteer-led scheme, which is both accredited and fully evaluated helps put churches right at the heart of their communities, working with families referred by local agencies such as schools, GP’s practices and many others, supporting families for a period of up to 12 months.

A ROC Community Mentor is a fully trained ‘friend with a purpose’ who can come alongside families who are often isolated and struggling, bringing love, hope and practical support.

ROC is looking to partner with churches all across the country. If you would like to know more about how your church could support local families more effectively contact info@roc.uk.com or visit https://roc.uk.com/roc-mentors/
