Jubilee+ Team
Autumn Zoom meetings

As the autumnal weather kicks in, and coronavirus restrictions tighten once more, the pressures on our communities continue, and in many cases will increase.

What can Christians and churches do to help? What issues is God particularly placing on your heart to address? What expertise do you have that may be a help to others?

You are warmly invited to join our Zoom calls on alternate Wednesdays throughout the autumn. Spaces are limited, to give everyone a chance to participate, but if any event is over-subscribed, we may be able to repeat it later that afternoon, so do let us know if the one you're interested in is fully booked.

Here's what we've got planned. Click the links to book your free place:

Wednesday 7 October
Mental Health
Guest speaker Dr Steve Thomas will help us explore how to engage with mental health as a key part of social need in church-based social action. Steve is a GP in Sheffield who specialises in mental health, and is a clinical commissioner for the city. He is a member of City Church, Sheffield.

Wednesday 21 October
The impact of coronavirus on addictions
More details to follow.

Wednesday 4 November
Job losses and unemployment
In the context of rising job losses and unemployment, how can individual Christians and local churches make a difference to those who have lost their jobs, or are in unstable work?

Wednesday 11 November
Asylum seekers and refugees
The Jubilee+ team will be joined by Paul Catterall for this Zoom session on asylum seekers and refugees. The main topic of the meeting will focus on accommodation.

Wednesday 18 November
Church planting in deprived communities
More details to follow.

Wednesday 2 December
Reflecting Jesus at Christmas
For many this is a tough time of year, whether it’s because of higher bills in winter, loneliness, depression, unemployment, debt or many other reasons. What does it look like for followers of Jesus to reflect him to those in need during this season?
