Exciting announcement

Jubilee+ is delighted to announce that our second book will be out this summer! We're pleased to be working with David C Cook publishers on our new title. Here is the press release they have issued:

David C Cook publishers are delighted to announce the acquisition of an important new book that aims to help transform churches to reach the most vulnerable in society.

Due for release in July 2017, A Church for the Poor by Martin Charlesworth and Natalie Williams, presents a vision of the church as a place where people from all sections of society can find a home and play a part.

Recent years have witnessed dramatic growth in churches across Britain finding ways to care for the poorest in their communities. However, when people from poorer or working class backgrounds start on a journey of faith, many churches struggle to create an inclusive environment where they can feel welcomed and at home.

Co-authors Martin and Natalie are part of a charity, Jubilee+, that aims to help churches reach out to the most vulnerable and to make the transition to places where all have a part to play. Martin said, “We are delighted, through this new book, to be able to help as many churches and Christians as possible reach out and change the lives of many of the most vulnerable. We wanted to write this book to make the case for a more radical approach to church that truly encompasses the poor in our nation. There are historical precedents, there is a biblical mandate and there is an urgent need for ‘a church for the poor’.”

Ian Matthews, who acquired the title for David C Cook said, “It is a real honour to be able to work with Martin and Natalie, real practitioners who are making a difference in the lives of people across this country. I know this book has an important message that we are committed to getting into the hands of as many people as possible.”

A Church for the Poor is published in July 2017 and will be available from all major retailers and online outlets. You can pre-order your copy of the book here or request review copies, interviews or more information here.
