Modern Slavery Awareness Webinar with Helen Hodgkiss, Thursday 16th April, 12 – 1pm

Helen is the co-founder of Hope at Home, a national charity that provides safe accommodation for survivors of modern slavery across the UK. Having stepped down from her role as Operations Director, she now works as a freelance trainer and charity consultant.

She runs modern slavery awareness training sessions for community and faith groups, covering awareness of slavery and trafficking, spotting the signs, what to do if people suspect someone they encounter is being exploited as well as some trauma-informed information around how trauma might affect the person they are working with and self-care when we are exposed to traumatic stories.

We have secured this session for our Partner Churches as we know you'll be encountering these kinds of situations, whether you realise it or not. Come and listen - learn what to look for and what action you need to take.

Growing an Accessible Church Webinar with Dr Naomi Fox, Thursday 11th June, 12 - 1pm

Jesus commands us to be a church for all individuals of all walks of life. What does it look like for your church to welcome children, young people and adults with additional needs? This could include learning, mental health, physical and undiagnosed needs which impact on everyday participation.

We will be hearing from Dr Naomi Fox, Occupational Therapist and Founder of Growing Hope, a charity championing accessibility and providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches. The session will cover lots of practical strategies which you can put in place to enable everyone of all walks of life to encounter Jesus as part of your church community.
