Senior Press and Media Officer 

JRS UK is seeking to recruit a full-time Senior Press and Media Officer to lead and develop JRS UK’s press coverage to help to achieve our vision of a world where people forced to flee their homes are welcomed with love; and to help lead our work at a critical time when the Nationality and Borders Bill is seeking to overhaul the UK asylum system.

Duration:  Permanent

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours a week); open to considering 30 hours a week

Location: Primarily office-based in Wapping, London. The team are currently mostly wfh due to COVID restrictions; longer-term hybrid wfh/office arrangements can be made. Regular travel into London will be required.

Salary: £28 – 34 K

Pension: Additional 10% of salary of employer’s contribution

Accommodation Officer 

The Accommodation Officer is a full-time post helping to and run an exciting project providing stable safe accommodation for women made destitute by the asylum system, as well as facilitating our existing hosting scheme providing short term placements for men and women. The post is offered initially on an 18-month contract, but is likely to be renewable. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a project as it develops and to shape its direction, and to make a tangible difference to the lives of people who would otherwise be street homeless or living in unsafe situations as a result of the asylum process.

Duration: 18 month fixed-term contract; potentially renewable

Hours: full-time (37.5 hours a week)

Location: JRS UK office, Hurtado Jesuit Centre, Wapping, London (Currently working from home but will require some travel within London to coordinate placements and weekly visits to house in Stockwell)

Salary: £26 – 34 K

Pension: Additional 10% of salary of employer’s contribution
