Detention Forum
Why UK must end its practice of indefinite immigration detention

The Detention Forum is a network of over 30 organisations who are working together to challenge the UK’s use of immigration detention, hosted by the Refugee Council. It encourages the new government to commit to radical reform of the UK immigration system, starting with the introduction of a time limit of 28 days on immigration detention.

The briefing paper makes a powerful argument for ending indefinite detention, which it portrays as inefficient, unnecessary, unjust and expensive.
